Please ensure your pet meets the following requirements for spay or neuter surgery:

  • Cleanliness: Pet should be as clean as possible.
  • Fasting: No food for 24 hours, water for 12 hours before the surgery to avoid complications with anesthesia.
  • Females Post-Birth: Females should be at least 2 months past giving birth and no longer nursing.
  • Age: Pets must be at least 12 weeks / 3 months old.
  • Transport: Bring a cage or blanket to carry your pet from recovery.
  • Post-Surgery Care: Keep animals warm for 24 hours while anesthesia wears off.

  • Feral Cats: Feral cats will have the left ear tipped to indicate they have been sterilized.
  • Tattoo Marking: All female pets will receive a small green ‘X’ tattoo near the spay incision as an international indication of sterility.

Mobile animal sterilization hospital – MASH

Baja Spay Neuter offers mobile spay and neuter clinics that can be deployed to any neighborhood or town in Baja.

Our fully equipped trailer is a self-contained Mobile Animal Sterilization Hospital (MASH), featuring a registration area, anesthesia/antibiotic area, surgical preparation areas, up to seven operating tables, and a recovery area. It includes canopies, work tables, surgical and stretchers, and a stocked medicine cart. Packed alongside are sterile surgical drapes, gloves, instrument sets, pee pads, towels, cleaning agents, and more. Our experienced spay & neuter team ensures comprehensive care.

Our efficient spay and neuter protocol allows surgeries to be conducted with minimal resources, employing minimally invasive techniques for quicker recovery and enhanced animal comfort.

Bringing a spay and neuter clinic to your neighborhood is one of the most powerful ways to support local animal welfare. By sponsoring or raising funds for a clinic, you can help curb pet overpopulation.

  • Requirements: We need a room or garage, electrical outlet, and water source (or provide a 5-gallon jug); everything else, including personnel, is provided.
  • Customization: Specify the number of animals, desired timeframe (weekday/weekend), and any special requests.
  • Inclusivity: Local veterinarians are welcome to observe, assist non-surgically, and distribute their business cards. Free training can be arranged.
  • Single or Multi-Day: priced at $30 per animal (dogs, cats, male, female, large, small, pregnant, or in heat).
  • Note: We reserve the right to offer entrance at any privately contracted clinic to the public for the same price.

Payment Options:

  • Cash, US checks, PayPal, Zelle, or Venmo accepted.
  • Additional charges may apply for travel over 50 miles from Rosarito or for overnight stays.
