Every Clinic provides the opportunity for the local community to learn more about animal welfare and the benefits of spay or neuter for their animals, their neighbors, and their community. The children are given a chance to view an actual surgery, to ask questions, and to participate in the recovery process with their pet. Written materials, DVDs, and posters help to explain how the numbers of hungry, diseased, and homeless animals are reduced; and how the public health of the communities and neighborhoods can be improved. People are happier; the dogs and cats are healthier, and children are learning by example. Everyone wins
All animals deserve kindness and respect. Education is key to change the culture of Mexico regarding the humane treatment of animals.
Our Animal Appreciation class teaches primary and secondary children in Baja how to be responsible pet owners. Animals and kids go together naturally, but how they treat those animals is learned behavior. Children learn by example, both good and bad. Unfortunately, in Baja, role models are few and far between, which makes our program that much more a necessity.
It is a misconception to believe that all Mexicans are consciously mean to animals. Many times people care about their pets but do not have the knowledge or resources to solve common problems our pets encounter, such as over-population, Parvo, Distemper, worms, mange, or flea/tick control.
Animal Appreciation is a single session companion animal welfare class presented to public and private school children, (ds at the Club De Ninos y Ninas (Boys & Girls Club of Rosarito ), and local orphanages. The class is designed to promote empathy, compassion, and kindness towards animals.
Cultural change begins with the children. They will make the difference for the animals of Mexico.
We can also provide a multi-session program that encompasses additional animals and in-depth variety of information and activities. If you would like us to come to your local school, church, camp or neighborhood contact us 661.123.3619 (Spanish and English)
